One of many…

Posted in Opinion at 3:24 am

Earlier tonight was the memorial service for Pat Tillman. For those who don’t know, Pat Tillman played football in the NFL and voluntarily gave it up to join the military. He died in action a little over a week ago, fighting for what he thought was right and for the country he loved.

Although Pat Tillman was an extraordinary man, it allows us to put a face to the numerous US soldiers who have lost their lives fighting for us. So, to Pat, and to all the men and women who have given their lives, we say thank you so very much for your sacrifices and bravery.

God bless America!

More Eric Meyer…

Posted in Link at 3:28 am

If you enjoyed the book Eric Meyer On CSS, I’ve got GREAT news:

More Eric Meyer On CSS is shipping now! I can hardly wait to see what projects Eric has in store for this book.

If you have some CSS skills and are looking for cool ways to improve and apply them, I would highly recommend Eric’s books. However, they really aren’t intended for those just getting started with Cascading Style Sheets.

Early season baseball thoughts…

Posted in Sports at 1:43 pm

Baseball…it’s a long season!

But here are some early thoughts about some of the stuff happening so far:

  • A-Rod : Grippin’ hard right about now. Lost 3 of 4 to Boston and the team in 3rd place at 7-7. He’s gonna feel the NY pressure for awhile.
  • Angels : Bust after all the great off season moves they made. Most analysts were giving the division to them before the season started.
  • D-Train : Dontrell Willis…awesome, dominant, and great for the game!
  • Cincy Reds : decent start considering, but I really like where the Cubs v. Reds rivalry is heading.
  • Other thoughts?

Bye bye monkey…

Way to go Phil! After an 0 for 42 slump in the major events, Phil Mickelson finally won his first…and The Masters at that!

An absolutely wonderful event this year full of stories…Arnie and Jack, Bruce Edwards, and finally Phil Mickelson.

He has handled the pressures of being the most notable to have not won a major and his response after winning…(paraphrasing) “it simply makes it that much sweeter now”.

Indeed Phil. Tip of the cap to you ol’ boy!

Could it have been avoided?

Posted in Poll at 3:35 am

Add your comments to the new poll here.

With Condi Rice’s testimony coming up this week after the Bush administration did everything in their power to keep her off the stand, I’ve gotta ask…do you think 9-11 could have been avoided?

Online Games

Posted in Computer at 8:27 pm

I’m not really much of a gamer, but online games have my attention. The idea of playing against others, possibly from around the world, is really cool.

We used to play Duke Nukem with a bunch of my buddies, but wow, games have really evolved since then.

You have games like Star Wars Galaxies which has so much future potential to be a vast experience and then you have your good ‘ol shootem up games like the recently released Unreal Tournament 2004.

So what games have any of you played online?

NCAA basketball

Posted in Sports at 2:52 am

Wow! Even though it has been frustrating trying to pick the winners this year (most years are for me), this is what it’s all about! I absolutely love college basketball. So many stories. So many upsets and buzzer-beaters. So much passion and effort. Exactly what the NBA lacks most nights.

So who is going to take it all this year?

What team is the biggest surprise?

Wilton Multi-Grip

Posted in Opinion at 2:46 am

Folks, I’ve come across an excellent product that I wanted to share with you. A little background…
I recently inherited a work bench and I wanted to add a small vise. I looked all over and couldn’t find anything I liked at a reasonable price. That is, until I found the Wilton Multi-Grip. This thing is designed SO well! It’s really amazing.
