My hosting provider made PHP5 available on a server and I jumped at the chance. PHP5 seems to be everything that PHP has been lacking up to this point.
However, there are some “cutting edge” pains that I’m going through so please be patient. Most things seem to have transferred ok, but I’m still tracking down some incompatibility issues…wish me luck.

Terrell Owens – I already expressed my views back in June. Dude makes me SICK and I’m tired of hearing about it.
Rafael Palmeiro – Big fat Viagra popping liar! And the MLB steriod policy is an absolute joke!

Well done Discovery crew!
Thank goodness that Eileen Collins and her crew made it back to Earth safely.
That sound you heard was a collective sigh of relief from all of the US. Interestingly, a co-worker was in London and that was a huge discussion topic there as well. Pretty cool!

Big Ups to Lance Armstrong! Not only for winning his incredible 7th consecutive Tour de France, but for being an inspiration to millions and, in my opinion, single-handedly keeping the world interested in bike racing.
I’ve gotta be honest…other than an occasional Greg LeMond glance, I knew very little about the Tour before Lance Armstrong. Now that he is retiring, it will be interesting how many people, other than the true fans, are really interested about the race next year, especially Americans.
What Mr. Armstrong has done is absolutely amazing and as the years go by, I have a feeling it will become even more amazing. Congratulations for being able to go out on top of your sport, as you deserve. Much respect!

There is evidently a device out called the Slingbox that allows you to stream almost anything over the internet so that you can watch it from any location using a pc and the viewing software (which only works right now on Windows XP). Here is PC Magazine’s review.
Oh, the possibilities!!
(Thanks for the info Dog!)

So I’m interested in desktop widgets (is there not a more overused term than “widget”)
I’m looking at Konfabulator and DesktopX and leaning towards DesktopX.
Any experiences with either?

Of you out there that own a Macintosh, I’m very curious why you went that route. And of the PC users, the same question.
– Compatibility?
– Number of Applications available?
– So you could tell Microsoft to piss off?
– Look and style?

A lot has been going on lately. Sorry for the leave of absence.
Well, let’s see…
– The Spurs did it, congrats.
– The Yankees are tanking and we aren’t to the All-Star break yet.
– It’s DAMN hot in Dallas.
– I’m strongly considering becoming a coffee drinker.
– Attack of the Show sucks without Kevin Rose.

What I love about Firefox is that you don’t have to worry about making sure you have security updates and whether or not your browser is standards compliant, and you can work on customizing and extending your browser to work for you, look cool, and do cool things.
Here is a book, part of the O’Reilly “Hacks” series, Firefox Hacks that really allows you to get into the inner workings of Firefox and make it YOUR browser.
Highly recommended.
