default styles

Posted in Link at 12:24 pm

The exhaulted Eric Meyer has an interesting discussion about just what is affected by “default styles”.

Anyone who codes CSS has been bitten by these and how different browsers set “defaults”.

min-height workaround

Dave Shea over at MezzoBlue has come up with a messy, but interesting way to get around the problem with how different browsers handle min-height!

Genius!

Check it out.

Having spent some time on an airplane recently, I came across this link to some beautiful photographs taken from the sky.

It even has accompanying music.

Strange yet interesting…

Posted in Link at 3:01 pm

Every so often we come across something that is strange, but interesting. Today’s link is one such site. This guy straps small video cameras to all kinds of animals and even plants/vegetables. I know! It just sounds strange, but go check out some of the footage here.

World’s Largest Pink Ribbon

Posted in Link at 1:27 pm

Quite a few of us know somebody who has suffered or died of breast cancer. Read about a project that 3M is organizing and please sign up.

World’s Largest Pink Ribbon

Exerpt from the web site:
The pink ribbon means something different for everyone. For one it might be a memory of one lost to breast cancer. For another it might be a symbol of what the future could bring. For yet another, it could mean survival. No matter what it represents to each individual, it brings hope to the thousands of people who are affected by breast cancer every year. More Eric Meyer…

Posted in Link at 3:28 am

If you enjoyed the book Eric Meyer On CSS, I’ve got GREAT news:

More Eric Meyer On CSS is shipping now! I can hardly wait to see what projects Eric has in store for this book.

If you have some CSS skills and are looking for cool ways to improve and apply them, I would highly recommend Eric’s books. However, they really aren’t intended for those just getting started with Cascading Style Sheets.

Mary’s place in Christianity…

Here is an interesting link.

I recently read The DaVinci Code and have moved on to Dan Brown’s previous book, Angels and Demons.

Some of these theories are hard to swallow but do raise some interesting thoughts.

SlamBall

Posted in Link at 3:08 am

What the XFL was to football, SlamBall is to basketball…only this is WAY cooler. Actually this is a variation of a brutal game we used to play in school when I was a kid (strangely enough called SlamBall), minus the trampolines…check out slamball. The championship game is next week.
