Strange yet interesting…

Posted in Link at 3:01 pm

Every so often we come across something that is strange, but interesting. Today’s link is one such site. This guy straps small video cameras to all kinds of animals and even plants/vegetables. I know! It just sounds strange, but go check out some of the footage here.

World’s Largest Pink Ribbon

Quite a few of us know somebody who has suffered or died of breast cancer. Read about a project that 3M is organizing and please sign up.

World’s Largest Pink Ribbon

Exerpt from the web site:
The pink ribbon means something different for everyone. For one it might be a memory of one lost to breast cancer. For another it might be a symbol of what the future could bring. For yet another, it could mean survival. No matter what it represents to each individual, it brings hope to the thousands of people who are affected by breast cancer every year. The Olympics

Posted in Sports at 3:30 am

Wow! I flat out love the Olympic Games! Summer, Winter…doesn’t matter. Besides the events, there is always the stories of the athletes. Those who have overcome incredible odds and extraordinary circumstances to be competing with the best in the world.

But the games are not without their faults. Here are some of the things that are right with the Olympics and and in my opinion, wrong with the Olympics.

Right:
– Greece : such history, tradition and the fans are amazing
– Michael Phelps : simply incredible performance
– Iraq soccer : something for them to cheer about
– Women’s softball : dominant
– Paul Hamm, Courtney Patterson : although not without controversy, tremendous displays of tenacity and never quit attitude

Wrong:
– Men’s basketball : over-hyped, cry babies
– Banned substances : several infractions, disgraceful
– Men’s 100 : totally disrespectful to the sport, especially the Americans

Baseball trades

Don’t you just love the trade deadlines and the flurry of activity it brings!?!?

So, who won and who lost with these trades?

Personally I feel very sorry for the Dodgers. (Sorry Mike) They were doing so well. They maybe needed another arm, certainly didn’t need to unload LoDuca if they were serious about winning a championship. Maybe it will work out.

Thoughts?

Quite a Christmas present here: Shaq v. Kobe

As much as we gripe about scheduling, here’s one for the fans.
